Evaluation of Voicethread.com

I really enjoyed voice thread.com. I think the site allows a person to bring life to their paper. Compared to writing it was a bit easier. All you have to do is add a picture and write about it. The hardest part for me was when you talk about something you do not have a delete key to hit while talking. You just start over. I wish I had the chance to use the full program for the assignment. I would have liked to see how the voice presentation turned out. Over all I thought the sit3e was easy to use, they had clear directions, and had a fun outcome. I have told my boss about it and he is going to share the site with out advertising department to try and promote online sales. Thanks for every thing. It was an enjoyable class. Good luck with the next class, I hope they can use the tools you used us to test.

"Who Did What" Conspiracy Theories

A conspiracy theory by definition is a theory that explains an event as being the result of a plot by a covert group or organization; a belief that a particular unexplained event was caused by such a group. To conspire means “to join in a secret agreement to do an unlawful or wrongful act or to use such means to accomplish a lawful end.” The term “conspiracy theory” is frequently used in popular culture to identify secret military, banking, or political actions aimed at stealing power, money, or freedom, from “the people”. So how did the term “conspiracy theory” get grouped in with fiction, fantasy and folklore? Maybe that’s a conspiracy, just kidding. Or am I?

Things like Men in Black, Mind control, and The 1969 Moon Landing; are they real or fiction? I am going to share a little bit of information that might make you think twice about this topics and more, a lot more.
Technology has always been used to generate, spread, and sustain conspiracy theories. Look back at the 1969 moon landing. That was a historical day. Not just landing on the moon but walking on another planet. Well, conspiracy theorists believe the moon landing was used to make the Russians believe that we were smarter and more technology advanced than they are. The website www.ufos-aliens.co.uk/cosmicapollo.html asks a lot of good questions, questions even today that have not been answered. It is said the government used modern technology to make it look like an actual landing. Was it a HOAX or Memorex, you decide.

Other modern technologies like the internet are used in the spread news, rumors, and conspiracy theories fast as lightning. When the Russian subways were bombed during morning commute I saw it on the internet three hours before I saw it on the news. If our banks, leaders, or the President wanted to cover up or miss lead us, for their gain the easiest way to get information out fast is threw the internet.

Another for instance, E Howard Hunt (CIA Agent) confessed to being involved in the conspiracy to assassinate Kennedy on his deathbed. Who heard of this, Why is in not in the history books. This is the government using technology to sustain a conspiracy theory the other way. By allowing people to think what may be the truth, information given to us by a person who talks about conspiracy theories a lot, and the government not saying a word. They have figured out in some cases if the truth is bad and they want to look good let the other guy spill the beans and you stand back and say “are you going to believe them or your government”. Some people believe what you tell them and others believe what they see, even if it isn’t real.

Using Our Reasoning Skills and Teaching Health of the Mind and Body

I feel reasoning skills should be taught to primary school kids. In fact, through my research I have found that schools teach reasoning skills threw out all grades. The questions we should be asking, are students being taught the right reasoning skills for the twenty-first century, are they being taught the best nutritional health and exercise to maintain a healthy mind and body, and will they know how to help prevent diseases like Alzheimer's and other mind crippling problems that come with age.

Students are being taught reasoning skills threw out every year of education from K-12 and in college. Educators are even planning reasoning skills lessons for preschool kids. Teachers are using online programs, worksheets, and games like Sudoku to teach and develop primary school children's reasoning skills. Due to changes in information technology in recent years some high school students are unable to critically read, analyze, and evaluate information. To address these problems they have developed courses designed to provide students with needed logical tools.

Reports have shown that teaching kids healthy eating and exercise have helped reduce childhood obesity and reduced blood cholesterol levels and improved lung capacity. Unfortunately, children's learning this at school is not enough. Parents need to help by continuing this education at home. With things like better family meals, better (more interesting) activities for exercise, and better sleeping habits. Just like learning math or reading, healthy eating and proper exercising habits start at home.

We, as adults, should continue to work our brains. Keep them healthy. Like exercise for the body working out our brain on a regular basis is good for us. Lumosity.com is a site that helps all ages to develop and improve cognitive training and learning using games and puzzles. Keeping the mind active is a helper in preventing Alzheimer's disease. As we get older we may experience memory loss due to a number of reasons; deterioration of the hippocampus, we have a loss of neurons as we age, and older people often experience decreased blood flow to the brain.

As you have gone through and read in this BLOG, reasoning skills are things we develop for as early as crawling age. We must, as we did as kids, keep the mussels moving or they will stiffen up and stop working as well or not at all. Exercise and eating right from the start is the best thing for a healthy body and mind. It will help develop our children minds and bodies, continue building good growth, and help in the prevention of diseases in old age. Below I have attached a few sites that you can link to search and find out more information.

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly Sides of Cell Phones in Socity.

I have chosen to explain how human society has been impacted by technology by the creation and use of cell phones, while sharing the good, the bad, and the ugly sides of them. I, as most all of us do, have a cell phone. After you read this you might reconsider owning a cell phone, how you use it, and what you do with the one you will be getting rid of. Before cell phones we talked on the phone or a land line. Before that there was sending letters. After reading how over the past 40 years with our conveniences in life, our cell phones, may be killing us ,you may want to get a pin and paper.
Some say cell phones are an inconvenience in our daily lives. I disagree. Cell phones have brought convenience to our lives from being able to have a list of phone numbers at our fingertips to watching television. We can call a friend or loved one without having to go home or have a quarter. You can take notes, send a message, or even send a text in a noisy room without having to get up and leave. Stop for a moment. Pull out your phone. Go ahead and pull it out! Hit your menu key. See the world’s technological conveniences of life at your fingertips just waiting for you to use them. And they look cool too. Hay, you got a message. You want to take it don’t you.
Not all the conveniences in life are good for you or the environment. Over one hundred million cell phones are replaced each year. According to a report I found written in June of 2008, we have about 36 million cell phones stashed in our drawers and 10 million cell phones dumped into our landfills. Batteries were originally composed of nickel and cadmium known as (Ni-Cd batteries). Cadmium is listed as a human carcinogen that causes lung and liver damage. Alternatives contain potentially explosive lithium or toxic lead. That means, according to this report, in 2008 alone about 6,200 pounds of lead dumped in landfills threw out America alone.
Now for the ugly truth about cell phones and the harm to us the user. Dr. Ronald Herberman, then director of the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute, issued a warning to people listing steps to avoid harmful electromagnetic radiation from cell phones. Cell phones transmit their signal by (RF) radio frequency. This is a type of radiation. Another study shows by using cell phones for more than 10 years increases the risk for at least two different types of brain tumors. Click on the link to see the radiation frequencies of things in our everyday lives.
Make a choice. To have a small hand held conveniences in life that will help you threw out the day and that may save your life one day, or to risk slowly killing yourself with radiation frequencies . We have allowed our greed for convenience to impact our life. The responsibility is ours to preserve of future and that or our kids. How can we allow our kids to use cell phones for ten years and get brain tumors risking death before their ready for college? Don’t, teach them about the dangers and let them make up their minds when they are older.
